Vulcan Park and Museum is home to the world's largest cast iron statue and features spectacular views of Birmingham. We tell the story of Birmingham's past, present and promise for the future.
Hours of Operation
Vulcan Park and Museum is open 7 days a week!
Vulcan Park grounds:
Monday through Sunday 7 am - 10 pm
Vulcan Center Museum:
Monday through Saturday 10 am - 6 pm and Sunday 1- 6 pm.

Observation Balcony:
Monday through Saturday 10 am - 10 pm and Sunday 1 pm - 10 pm.
Holiday Hours: Vulcan Park and Museum opens at 1 pm on Thanksgiving and New Year's Day and closes at 6 pm on July 4th. Vulcan Park and Museum is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
**Subject to close for special events, park events and activities, and Vulcan Observation Balcony may close due to bad weather.
NOTE: Vulcan Park and Museum will be closed at 5 pm, Saturday, June 14, for a private event.
Admission
Entrance to the park grounds is free daily from 7 am - 6 pm.
Daily admission rates (plus tax) 10 am - 6 pm:
(Includes Vulcan Park, Vulcan Center Museum and Observation Balcony)
- $6 Adults
- $5 Seniors (65+)
- $4 Children ages 5-12
- Children 4 years and under are admitted free.
Want to visit Vulcan at night?
The Observation Balcony stays open every evening 6 - 10 pm.

Groups of 10 or more receive $1 discount off daily admission price with advanced reservation and when making one payment. Contact 205-933-1409 ext. 27 for group reservations (required in advance).

Vulcan Park and Museum is located atop Red Mountain near the intersection of Valley Avenue and 21st Street South (Richard Arrington Junior Boulevard).

Vulcan Park and Museum has free parking and accommodates tour buses. Vulcan Park and Museum is wheelchair accessible. If you have special needs, please call 205-933-1409 ext. 30 before your arrival.
NOTE:
The Vulcan Trail, located just north of Vulcan Park and Museum off Richard Arrington Junior Boulevard, has no connection to or access from Vulcan Park and Museum. The Vulcan Trail is a separate Birmingham City Property maintained by Birmingham Parks and Recreation Department. For more information about the Vulcan Trail, please click here.
