Vulcan Park and Museum is operated by Vulcan Park Foundation and appreciates park members and generous donors. Vulcan Park Foundation is a non-profit organization with the goal of keeping the park a historically significant site with a wealth of educational opportunities for area visitors and citizens of all ages.

Volunteer Opportunities
Help us tell the story of Birmingham's past, present and promise for the future!
As a Vulcan Park and Museum volunteer, you invest in the future of Vulcan, Birmingham and our community. Volunteers encourage the education of our city and enrich park visitors experiences while in Birmingham.
Becoming a Vulcan Park and Museum volunteer is an opportunity to be a part of a warm and lively community. You will encounter guests from all over the world while sharing and celebrating Vulcan Park and Museum’s achievements.
We offer flexible volunteer schedules, training, volunteer service awards and recognition programs and other great benefits. Volunteers assist with special events, visitor services or administrative duties and must be at least 18 years old.

DOCENTS
Docents volunteer their time to be a museum teacher and interpret Vulcan Center Museum exhibits. They share knowledge in a lively and entertaining manner with park visitors.
Docent training includes the history of Vulcan and Birmingham as well as touring technique tips. No previous teaching experience required - just a love of learning and an interest in history. Docents must be at least 21.

Giving
Give to Vulcan Park Foundation and help us with our educational mission. Not only does a charitable contribution to Vulcan Park Foundation help maintain Birmingham's icon, it also benefits you by bringing tax savings.
