Terri Moody

Terri Moody was raised in Gainesville, Florida. She received a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation and a Mastor of Science in Recreation Administration from the University of Florida. Terri was a Bank Teller and Fiscal Assistant at Florida State University and also taught basic Therapeutic Recreation courses during Graduate School. She completed a four-year extension course in Education for Ministry from Suwannee Seminary at the University of Tennessee.

She worked in Physical Rehabilitation in Sarasota and Fort Myers, Florida. After moving to Birmingham, she served as Activities Director in nursing homes and “retired” eight years ago. She joined Vulcan Park and Museum’s part-time visitor services staff in August 2004 but is now full-time Assistant Manager of Visitor Services. Her position involves supervising part-time employees, acting as a customer service liaison and ensuring visitors’ experiences are positive. She loves talking with guests from all over the U.S. and the world and being able to provide them with information about Birmingham and Vulcan.

Terri is a past-President of two ESA (philanthropic sorority) chapters. She used to make porcelain dolls and sing in folk festivals. She enjoys reading, watching movies, going to the beach, traveling and participating in outreach activities at her church. She has a daughter and two sons, 5 grandchildren, one great-grand baby on the way, and a Granddog. Although she received two degrees from the University of Florida, she is not a Gator fan.
