Director of PR and Marketing
Audra Bean
Originally from Trussville, Alabama, Audra attended the University of Alabama and received a B.A. in Communications. After graduating, she moved back home to Birmingham and started her professional career in marketing and public relations at the Birmingham Museum of Art. In August 2003, Audra was hired by Vulcan Park Foundation as the Event Facility Coordinator of Vulcan Park and Museum’s brand new private event facility.
She currently serves as Director of PR and Marketing and is responsible for marketing all aspects of VPM including its tourist and historical amenities, private event facility, education and membership programs and public events on a local, regional and national level. She oversees the creation of VPM’s annual advertising and marketing campaign and serves as primary spokesperson and media contact for the organization. Her duties also include controlling the use of the federally trademarked name and image of the Vulcan statue as well as cultivating and maintaining relationships with key marketing representatives of Birmingham and Alabama’s travel and tourism industry, economic development interest groups and governmental agencies. Audra enjoys promoting the positive aspects of Birmingham to visitors from around the world and is proud to work with a team of individuals who have a shared interest in making the Birmingham community a better place to live, work and play.
Audra was named Birmingham Business Journal, Top 40 Under 40 in 2006 and is a graduate of the 2010 UAB Leadership Class. She volunteers for ONB Magic City Art Connection, is a board member of the Green Resource Center for Alabama and serves as Publicity Chair for Executive Women International. She is an active member of Five Points South Merchants Association and Central Alabama Hospitality Attractions and Business Association. Outside of work, Audra enjoys cooking, bargain shopping and socializing with friends over dinner at various popular neighborhood restaurants in Birmingham.
