Vulcan Park and Museum Teachers' Guide
Through step-by-step exhibit descriptions and a wealth of pre- and post-visit classroom activities, Vulcan Park and Museum's Teachers' Guide empowers teachers planning a visit to Vulcan. Like our exhibits, the Teachers' Guide is aligned with the Alabama Course of Study in science, social studies, and fine arts. Teachers will love the guide's easy-to-use format and well-researched overview of our region's history.
To request a Teacher's Guide, please contact Sheila Cook at 205.933.1409 x 29 or scook@visitvulcan.com. (Please allow up to three weeks for delivery.)
Encyclopedia of Alabama
Encyclopedia of Alabama is a source of information on the state's history, culture, geography, and natural environment. It is like a traditional encyclopedia, with its emphasis on authoritative content based on sound scholarship. But the online format makes it a modern reference tool offering video, audio, and graphics that can be updated and expanded. Its just another great way to enhance learning beyond the classroom.
YouTube
Vulcan Park and Museum is now providing resources for teachers via YouTube that help illustrate our unique field trips and programs. Please come back often as we continue updating and enhancing our content.
